What is Early Access?

Early access is one of the benefits of pre-ordering FINAL FANTASY XIV: Dawntrail. You will be able to play the full version of Dawntrail as early as Friday, 28 June 2024 at around 9:00 (GMT) / 10:00 (BST) / 19:00 (AEST) before its official release on Tuesday, 2 July 2024.

Early Access Period

Early access will end on Friday, 5 July 2024 at 23:59 with the region of your Square Enix account determining the time zone. North American accounts will adhere to (PDT), European accounts will adhere to (GMT), and Japanese accounts will adhere to (JST). Users on Windows, Mac, or Steam will need to register the full Dawntrail registration code before this time to continue playing after the early access period.

Square Enix Store Customers

Starting Monday, 24 June, we will begin distributing Dawntrail registration codes via email to customers who purchased Dawntrail (standard or digital Collector's Edition) from the Square Enix Store. Code distribution will be performed sequentially, so it might take a bit of time until you receive your code. However, we are beginning the process early to ensure that customers receive their codes ahead of the official launch of Dawntrail.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The ability to enter a Dawntrail registration code (using the "Additional Expansions" option) will not be available on the Mog Station until the game officially launches following early access on Tuesday, 2 July. Attempting to register the code in other areas of the Mog Station before release will simply result in an "invalid code" error being displayed.

Please Be Mindful about Spoilers

During the early access period, there will be no restrictions on what content you can discuss, post, or stream while following the Material Usage License Agreement. However, we ask that early access users please be considerate and do their best to avoid posting spoiler-related content as there are those players who may start at the official launch or play at their own pace.

We are delighted to announce that the 7-inch vinyl single of Dawntrail's main theme is now available!

The record includes two tracks: "Open Sky - The Theme from Dawntrail," an edited version of the Dawntrail theme song, and "Dawntrail," the version featured in the full Dawntrail trailer.

The tracks feature guest vocals from Amanda Achen and compositions by FFXIV's very own THE PRIMALS! Additionally, the album jacket features a brand-new illustration from the FFXIV Art team.

Patch 7.0 will see several changes to Allagan tomestones and scrips, including the removal of Allagan tomestones of astronomy, as well as yellow crafters' and gatherers' scrips.

Players carrying any of these currencies are advised to exchange them before the start of Patch 7.0 maintenance.

A new logical data center, Shadow, will be added to the European Data Center on Tuesday, June 11 around 3:00 a.m. (PDT) with one additional World than originally announced, for a total of four Worlds. These Worlds will be released as probationary Worlds to mitigate the congestion that may arise with Dawntrail's launch and will only be available for the purposes of Data Center Travel.

Probationary Worlds will be restricted from new character creation and the Home World Transfer Service but will otherwise function as regular Worlds where players will be able to enjoy their usual activities, such as undertaking quests and duties, or matchmaking via the Duty Finder. We hope these Worlds will serve as helpful alternatives when your usual data center is congested.

Furthermore, probationary Worlds will be classified as "Congested" on the Lodestone server status page. This classification is intended to indicate their restrictions on new character creation and Home World Transfer, rather than the actual congestion status of these Worlds.

We will be carefully monitoring the number of concurrent logins, and will follow up with a separate announcement in the event that new character creation and Home World Transfer restrictions are lifted from probationary Worlds.
